No Means No T-shirt 'promoting rape' being sold for £5 by Everything5

UPDATE: The t-shirt appears to have been removed from sale following the backlash. People are calling for this T-shirt to be pulled from sale, saying it promotes rape. Currently on sale in the UK for £5, the slogan reads ‘NO MEANS NO’ then in much smaller letters, ‘Well maybe if I’m drunk’. Everything5.com, registered in Dorset, offers the shirt in both white and black. But it has sparked a massive backlash today from people saying it implies it’s okay to ignore someone saying they don’t want sex, or to take advantage of someone who may be too drunk to consent. The dangerous idea that when a woman means no she actually means yes has been used by rapists for generations trying to justify themselves. But there shouldn’t be any ‘grey area’: it should be obvious if somebody wants sex. | Metro News via IFTTT
