Teenage 'train surfers' cling to speeding carriages in Melbourne
'Nothing can stop us unless it's death': Shocking footage shows teenage 'train surfers' posing for photos as they cling to carriages travelling at 115km/h *** Teenage 'train surfers' have filmed themselves clinging onto carriages travelling at speeds of 115km/h. The dangerous craze sees the masked teenagers - who call themselves the Sky High Idiots - hang onto the back of speeding trains in Melbourne. Three teenagers have died in the last four years while riding the outside of the trains, but the irresponsible group say they are not afraid of death. The footage shows a teenage girl and four male friends hanging onto the back of a train travelling at 115km/h. The girl clambers around the back of the rear carriage and even poses for a photo as she sits just centimetres from almost certain death. But the group have no intention of bringing a halt to their perilous stunts, despite being under investigation by the police. 'It's completely our decision and if we want to risk our lives doing that then it's what we're going to do,' one of the gang told 9 News. The male member of the group, who refused to be identified, added: '[Our] parents aren't really too thrilled about it but it's not going to stop us.' Asked if anything could stop the group from clinging onto speeding trains, he replied: 'Not really unless it's death'. Joshua Greene, Jordan Porter and James Wilkinson all died in the last four years while riding on top of or on the side of trains. Despite the apparently burgeoning craze, just 10 people have been fined for train surfing in the last year. Adults caught clinging onto trains are fined $389, but minors only have to cough up $78. Metro Trains Melbourne slammed the Sky High Idiots, saying their video showed 'extremely dangerous and risky behaviour'. | DailyMail via IFTTT
