Bridge COLLAPSES onto lorry on motorway in Kent
How did they all survive? Bank holiday chaos on the motorways as a lorry carrying a digger smashes into a bridge which COLLAPSES onto the M20 crushing vehicles and leaving just one person injured ---- A pedestrian bridge over a motorway in Kent has collapsed after being hit by a lorry carrying a digger. The incident took place between Junction 3 and 4 of the M20, in the Borough Green area and left the roof of one HGV completely ripped off. Kent Police have confirmed the collapse was caused by a lorry crashing into the bridge which appears to have been under repair. It is believed the crane arm of the digger smashed into the concrete section of the structure, crushing a passing HGV in the process. One person has been injured but it is not known how serious their condition is. The incident is going to cause havoc with Bank Holiday with today predicted to be the busiest on the roads for the whole weekend. An estimated 10million people will get in their cars as many head off on trips and breaks and drivers have been told to expect severe delays on the M20 with lanes in both directions closed until the area can be made safe. | Daily Mail Online via IFTTT
