CCTV shows Ryan Lochte and US swimmers with hands up before Rio ‘robbery’

CCTV footage showing four US swimmers, including Ryan Lochte, at a petrol station on the night they claimed they were victims of a gunpoint robbery, has emerged. Brazilian police said today that the story had been fabricated although security guards at the petrol station had pointed guns at the Olympians.. The footage shows the Olympians, Lochte visible by his bleached hair, walking around the garage forecourt before entering and exiting a taxi. At one stage the men – Lochte, Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and James Feigan – are seen to hold their hands up briefly and then later on they are seen sitting on the floor again briefly raising their hands. The video, first released by Globo.com, adds further detail to the events of the night that have become the focus of intense speculation since the swimmers claimed to have been robbed. | Metro News via IFTTT
