In pictures: Rio’s stunning Olympic closing ceremony

So that’s it, the 2016 Rio Olympics is officially over. Brazil has welcomed the world to their country in typically colourful, emphatic style. The iconic Maracana stadium played host to the final Olympic party as fireworks, dancers, musicians and of course Olympians met to pass the Olympic torch over to Tokyo who will host the Games in four years time. The rain clouds may well have replaced the warm weather in Rio but that didn’t stop the party atmosphere – especially around Team France who nearly stole the show – as Brazil waved goodbye in brilliant fashion. | Metro News via IFTTT
