Man poured boiling liquid over girlfriend’s dog
A man who poured boiling liquid over his girlfriend’s dog has been jailed despite pleas that he’s lost everything as a result of the attack. Mark Simon Sharp left Daisy, a King Charles spaniel, with burns, and fractured ribs, tail and pelvis as a result of separate attacks. Thanet murder He tried to get out of being sent to prison by describing himself as a ‘clumsy fella’ adding that he was not a ‘psychotic person’. Sharp told the court that he had been forced to quit his job, leave his family, and move away from his son. However, a judge saw through his tears and gave him a 16-week prison sentence at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court and has been banned from keeping animals for 15 years. He admitted the attack and two previous incidents when his trial was due to begin last month. The court heard he attacked Daisy in June last year weeks before moving in with Daisy’s owner. Prosecutors said Daisy suffered injuries normally seen in collisions with cars. Sharp said he may have stood on Daisy and admitted breaking nine of her ribs. He later claimed he had pulled her lead when another dog tried to attack her. Prosecutor Peter Mitchell said: ‘Both of the first attacks were from hard and forced trauma that were similar to injuries suffered in road traffic accidents. ‘It is my understanding that he still continues to deny the pouring boiling liquid on the dog despite pleading guilty.’ Sentencing, District Judge Wendy Lloyd said: ‘The dog’s scars were so clear that you must have known she was injured. It would have been obvious. | Metro News via IFTTT
