Terrifying footage shows man trying to grab baby from shopping trolley

Footage has emerged showing the moment a man brazenly tries to take a baby from a shopping trolley in a supermarket. Florence Monauer says she believes the man was trying to kidnap her 14-month-old daughter while her back was turned. She confronted the man after hearing rustling coming from the trolley and he then put the baby back down in the H-Mart in Houston, Texas. She told KTRK that he never spoke to her directly but while walking away he said: ‘If your mom wasn’t here, I would take you.’ She added: ‘She was attached to the shopping cart cover and I think if it weren’t for that cover he would probably have taken off with her altogether.’ Mrs Monauer wrote on Facebook: ‘I thought he was just an over-friendly guy and maybe he didn’t understand what was appropriate and what wasn’t. ‘I didn’t want to make a big scene out of it, and I generally don’t want to assume that people are up to no good. I’m so angry with myself for letting him hold her for even a second. The more I thought about it, the more wrong it appeared. Please be on the look out for this guy!’ Police are reviewing the footage to identify the man. | Metro News via IFTTT
