DEWANI SUICIDE Shrien Dewani’s gay lover ‘The German Master’ who was key witness in honeymoon murder trial found hanged *** A KEY witness in the murder trial of millionaire businessman Shiren Dewani was found hanged at home. Leopold Leisser, 45, who is a former prostitute, was found by a friend in his flat in Birmingham. A postmortem revealed Mr Leisser, who was known in the sex industry circles as The German Master, died from hanging, the Birmingham Mail reports. Leisser had been suffering from stress due to the 2014 court case which involved Bristol businessman, Shiren Dewani. Dewani was accused of plotting the murder of his new wife Anna during their honeymoon in South Africa in November 2010. He was cleared in 2014 after a trial held in Cape Town and where Leisser gave evidence. Leisser claimed Dewani paid up to £400 for a number of sex sessions. Ashok Hindocha, speaking on behalf of Anni’s family said there had been “emotional” meetings with Leisser during the trial, in which they thanked him for his “courage” in testifying. Sunday will the sixth anniversary of the killing, which will be marked “quietly”. Hindocha added he was “sad” to hear of Leisser’s suicide adding that he thought Leisser was “burdened by the fact that he didn’t have the opportunity to open his heart about what he knew”. Elisabeth Bussey-Jones, coroner for Birmingham and Solihull, recorded a verdict of suicide. Leisser’s body was discovered in September She said: “There was evidence that Mr Leisser had been stressed but no signs that he wanted help. My condolences go out to his family for such a tragic loss.” | The Sun via IFTTT
