Eight fire crews battle massive blaze at recycling plant



Thick black smoke was spotted billowing into the air near Birmingham as firefighters tackle a massive blaze. Eight fire crews from three local stations have been sent to fight the chemical fire in Lye, Stourbridge. A West Midlands Fire Control spokesperson said they have received more than 70 calls relating to the incident. The spokesperson said: ‘This is a severe fire in the open. ‘It involves plastic bags, TVs and pallets.’ The Express and Star reported that the fire broke out in a recycling plant. The local newspaper added that a road is closed but no one is thought to have been injured. | Metro News via IFTTT
