Policeman saves elderly man by clutching his waist after he fell from window

A policeman saved an elderly man by clutching his waist for 30 minutes after he fell from a window onto the burglar bars of a neighbour’s below. Pictures from the incident in Guanghan City in China show the pensioner holding on to the security bars for dear life, while the officer holds him in his right arm. Neighbours said it looked as if the elderly man’s grip was loosening shortly before Wang Xiaoke arrived to save him. Because of odd shape of the bars, Wang was forced to bend his body and hold it in the awkward position for some 30 minutes before firefighters arrived. Meanwhile the pensioner whose body was aching and whose legs were trembling, waited until rescuers were lowered from the floor above and helped him to safety. The old man is now safe and only had to be treated for some slight bruises. Wang was quoted as saying: ‘I collapsed on the floor after I was allowed to let go. I was very relieved, but I needed several minutes to be able to stand and walk again.’ | Metro News via IFTTT
