New $5 Australian Banknote is like something from a sci-fi movie
If you’ve been to Australia you’ll know its money is pretty awesome. Features like it being waterproof, and therefore untearable, have for a long time made our dull collection of cotton notes seem pretty archaic. And just when we thought the Bank of England was beginning to catch up with its new range of plastic notes, Australia has taken things a step further again. The country’s new $5 bill is a snapshot of the future. As well as tactile features which make it easier for blind or low vision people to identify, it also comes with loads of interesting holograms (a bird that moves its wings) and a massive see through film.
