HOUSE PARTY HORROR Four people killed and 14 injured after balcony collapses at housewarming party *** FOUR people have been killed and 14 injured after a balcony collapsed during a housewarming party in France. Neighbours reported hearing screams as the third floor balcony plummeted, destroying two more balconies below. The four young victims – believed to be students – were pulled from the rubble but could not be saved. More than 70 firefighters had rushed to the scene in the city of Angers shortly after midnight. A spokesman for the city’s university hospital said 10 people were admitted while four were treated at a clinic. One of those injured is believed to be in a serious condition. Duty manager at the hospital, Michel Pichon, told France Info radio that the injured "were about 20 years old, certainly students". No-one was on the two lower balconies at the time of the collapse.
