CCTV shows Leeds teen leap onto car and smashes windscreen in 'body slamming' craze
Thugs are 'body slamming' themselves against car windscreens in a new craze which is sweeping through Leeds. Michaela Camm installed CCTV cameras just a week before the incident due to an increase in anti-social behaviour. The 45-year-old mother, who is recovering from spinal surgery, saw the footage of a hooded figure launching himself at her red Volkswagen Golf. The 23-second footage shows a teenager charging the windscreen with his left shoulder and shattering the window before leaping off the bonnet and sprinting away, followed by four friends. Another victim spoke out on social media about her car being 'body slammed' and claimed another 20 or more have been targeted in a similar way across the Leeds area. Meanwhile images of another incident in Frodsham, Cheshire, emerged on social media this morning. Footage from the second security camera shows four teenagers, including two girls, walking down the road. Seconds later they run into shot - one of whom appears to crouch at the side of the car. Michaela was woken in the early hours of Sunday morning by shouting but after peering through the kitchen window and seeing nothing decided to go back to bed. She only discovered the damage when she came out of the house to check her car on Sunday afternoon. Michaela said: 'I cried when I saw the car. I just thought 'I don't need this' especially when I'm feeling so poorly and still recovering from the op. Michaela said that a spate of anti-social behaviour incidents has left her nervous to leave the house. A Leeds Council spokesman said they weren't aware of the 'body slamming' craze and said a member of their anti-social behaviour team had been in touch with Michaela but was awaiting a response. West Yorkshire Police have been approached for comment. | Daily Mail Online via IFTTT
