US election results: Updates on who is winning as states declare for Trump or Clinton
The Donald heads for incredible victory after he takes Ohio - with Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina all set to fall into his lap in close race that has confounded all the experts *** With the 2016 Presidential election night in full swing, Ivanka Trump posted a picture of 'Team 'Trump' as they watched the balance of political power in the United States teeter on a knife edge. The would-be first family were pictured at their Hilton Hotel HQ in Manhattan engrossed as a handful of swing states appeared to move ever so slightly in their favor. Dressed in a blue dress Tiffany Trump was joined by her sister-in-law Vanessa and husband Donald Trump Jr., vice presidential candidate Mike Pence and his wife Karen alongside Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner and Donald Trump himself stood with his granddaughter, Arabella Rose Kushner. To Trump's right is his daughter-in-law, Lara. As Trump battled Democrat Hillary Clinton, a half-dozen 'swing' states - those that don't reliably lean Republican or Democrat - were undecided as vote tallies went on. Key battles were unfolding in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania - with Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia also up in the air. Trump will need to win at least four of those six states in order to have a plausible path to the White House. With 96 per cent of Florida's votes counted, Trump led Clinton by roughly 118,000 votes out of nearly nine million. Cheers rang out at the Trump victory party inside a Manhattan hotel ballroom every time Florida updates flashed on giant screens. Yet a senior Trump campaign official admitted to CNN as the results poured in: 'It will take a miracle for us to win.' Florida was memorably the deciding state in the 2000 election between George W Bush and Al Gore. A major recount dispute meant that the result was not known for more than a month after balloting. Initial results gave Clinton victories in Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and the District of Columbia. | Daily Mail via IFTTT
